InterfacexUnity Project 3
I finally got 3 inputs working!! While I’m still getting the hang of scripting, I think I’m starting to understand the breadboard & Arduino more. I was having a lot of issues getting a consistent read on my LDR sensor, and I realized it was because I didn’t have power connecting to the bottom half of my breadboard. After fixing that part, the rest of scripting came pretty easily thanks to Rudi’s tutorial.
Last week, I started building a “club” or something resembling a holy club, but didn’t feel like pursuing that further this week. Instead, I opted for making a “black box” since it’s carried over through many of the readings and talks thus far. While the design itself is still coming together, I took a icosahedron model from SketchFab and cut a hole through it in Blender. It took me a while to figure out how to retain the inner meshes so that they’d show up in Unity. As for the contents of the blackbox, I guess I kept returning to this idea of a disappearing archive. I added a bunch of computers from SketchFab, and interested in using “I’m feeling lucky” Google Earth, I superimposed 2D Sprite shaders on the monitors. I found a neat Mirror package but haven’t gotten it to work quite yet (a goal for next week). No Face is kind of random, but also represents a ghost, and all of it in some ways comes together like a garden. Random, I know! Anyhow, I’m very happy all of this works so far.
The button controls all the point lights, the potentiometer controls the emission rate, and the light sensor controls the overall box light.
